The Rooster Brothers are a four piece countrified swamp rock combo, based in the west midlands, UK. Their music is a canny blend of their heroes - Waylon Jennings, The Band and Ry Cooder. However, it is the quality of their own material that seperates this gang from the rest. The cornerstones of their set are all self-penned: "Back On The Road", "Swamp Monsters" and "Snakes & Ladders" being prime examples. Their tunes are coloured by reflections of their own lives, and peppered with references to their own locale. They didn't get this good by accident - they have impressive form. Graham Davies is the main Rooster guitarist. Previous experience includes BBC sessions, national and international tours and a stint with legendary 60s band Blonde on Blonde, who appeared alongside acts such as Bob Dylan. Nationally regarded as one of the most highly rated blues guitarists, Graham has supported acts such as Big Joe Louis. Robbie Fisher is a songwriter of international reknown: his song "Medicine Man" was recorded by Johnny Winter on the Grammy-nominated album Let me in. His inimitable vocal style and quirky open-tuned guitar give the Roosters an original edge which is unparalleled on the current scene. Geoff Baker is the digital studio whizz-kid and owner of Joe's Digital Garage, the Rooster's recording base. As a songwriter/producer in his own right, with the ultra mod "1000 Dead Surfers", his solid flowing bass lines underpin the unique Rooster sound. Simon Wynn's authentically accomplished drumming effortlessly drives and enhances the Rooster rythm. Simon has worked with Robbie Fisher for many years and was one of the original members of the much-loved Courtmen. The Roosters have recently been commissioned to write and submit fresh material to major names in nashville, including Willie Nelson and Cliff Richey. Their first CD, "Six Days On The Road", showcases not only the Rooster's swamp rock sound but also shows an unplugged acoustic side. Live the Rooster's are a stunning combination. This gang are a whole lotta fun and a welcome breath of fresh air. TO BOOK THE ROOSTER BROTHERS, CONTACT THE BLUES LINE. |
