RICK
PAYNE is an established blues player in his home town of
BRISTOL. Using influences from the best of the early
blues and withan emphasis on slide guitar, he performs
with a dynamic mix of styles reminiscent of players like
RY COODER and JOHN HAMMOND.
He tours regulary in Europe and Scandanavia, and has made several visits to the USA. It was while he was in California that he came to the attention of roots label, 'BENNETT HOUSE RECORDS', and recorded a CD, 'BLUE RIVER BLUES'. In the main it is a solo album, however Rick is joined on several tracks by 'DAN HICKS AND HIS HOT LICKS' guitarist, JOHN GIRTON.
